Wallpaper in one thing which gives the room a different look and feel which no paint brush can ever give. The printed and stylish wallpapers can practically be of any type and style. You can use them in the kid”s room for special effects like with nice bright colored designs or you can use them in your bedroom for a nice cozy effect. The advantage being that you can use them on one wall itself rather than using the entire room for the wallpaper.
Decorative wallpapers like any other thing in the house are liable to get dirty with dust, cobwebs, grime and dirt. They are also likely to get some scratched if you are not carful. Once they get dirty it is not always easy to remove them or peel them.
Before you can start cleaning the wallpaper make sure that you read the label of the wallpaper correctly to see as to what the manufactured has given the directions for. It may have labeled as washable or only scrubber is allowed. If you are not sure then tear a very very small piece from a place which cannot be easily seen and then take it to the shopkeeper who sold you the wallpaper. Chances are that most likely he will know all the answers.
If the wallpaper you have in your home does not have any label and you want to check whether the ink will stain or not when you use a damp cloth you can use a a small spot to check yourself.
Take a wet cloth and then apply to a very small area. Now the selection of that area is important so select a place which is most likely to be hidden from the direct view like the bottom most right hand corner or the place which is behind the sofa or the bed. Apply the cloth on that area to see for yourself whether the wallpaper is washable or not.
Remove the dust from the wallpaper using the simple vacuum brush or a dry cloth. Do it gently as the wallpaper my get scratches because of the cleaning action. If your wallpaper is the vinyl coated ones then they are easily scrubbed using a foam cleanser. Use a clean cloth applying the foam and then applying it onto the vinyl wall covering. Make sure that the dust has been removed earlier using a dry cloth else it will leave a lot of scratch marks.
