States like Tennessee are part of the country that does not have to deal with water damage from hurricanes, but they are faced with different kinds of water damage. Let us look at it for what it really was, that being a wall of water, with a massive amount of ash from the pond that descended over hundreds of acres of land in what seemed like only seconds to the residents. These residents are now dealing with what is left of their home and land as a result of the break in a retaining pond that held back tons and tons of contaminated ash.
As the residents see the result of the break, they are mesmerized by what happened in their on own backyards. As much as several feet of mud, water, and fly ash surrounded their home in only minutes. There was no time to try and save anything but themselves. One could only imagine the people who witnessed their land and home buried by the ash pond. The clean up has already begun, but what will the residents be left with when it is over? It is the question many residents want to know. Their home was invaded by any and every thing that was in the water from the break.
The question that is being ask the most, is the state going to hire professionals to come in and remove the mud and fly ash from the inside of their homes or someone that has no clue about what there are doing? Landscaping the outside of their land was one thing, but will restore their home back to what they once knew and can it be done at all?The residents will surely have to face the water damage that is now left. The clean up will take months to recover from and in some cases many home owners can never go back.
When the mud is removed from the inside of their homes, will the state provide the companies that are certified in water damage to clean up this magnitude of a spill? Not only rebuild the inside of their home, but have the knowledge to eliminate the problems that they will deal with months down the road. Like the mold and mildew damage that will occur if the wrong people are hired. Cleaning this up will take the best of the best in water damage restoration.
