The Importance Of Packaging

When you are moving home, relocating or packaging your possessions for storage you should ensure that your possessions are packed safely and securely so that nothing can be broken or damaged during transportation.
Take extra care with fragile items and try to use durable, strong and secure boxes so that they can handle the move. Some storage companies offer a packing service and they will have a range of packaging products available which are all designed for storing and moving goods.
Use plenty of bubble wrap when packing breakables - such as kitchen china and glasses. Once you have filled the boxes pad out any empty spaces with scrunched up newspaper so that the box won”t be crushed if another box is placed on top of it. Remember to mark fragile boxes clearly so that the people handling your goods at the storage company know to handle the box with care and they will know what boxes to put on top and which ones are safe at the bottom.
It is also advisable to keep the boxes with the items you made need (the kettle) to access at the front of the storage container so that they are easily reachable - it may cause a lot of hassle if they are right at the back of the container. Mark each box clearly so that you know what is in it - don”t literally list every item, just write the relevant room on it. To save you hassle when you unpack at the other end you could always number the boxes and then list what is in each box for your personal knowledge - this way if you urgently need something you will know where it is. Just make sure you don”t write it across the box because you don”t want other people knowing what is in there.
Once you have packaged up all of your items they are then ready to be transported to the storage facility. Many companies can pick up your items, which saves you the hassle of transporting your goods - they also have lots of experience in transporting heavy and fragile boxes so your goods will be well-looked after.
Then when you are ready to pick up your items after your relocation many storage companies will offer you the opportunity to pick up your possessions yourself which will save you money. However, if you don”t have a big enough vehicle to hold everything then they will provide you with a professional delivery service too.
