How to Prevent Mold And Water Damage Around The Bathtub

There are way to keep mold out of your bathroom. You can put in vents to keep the moisture out of the room and so the moisture will not get on anything. You can open a window if you have one in your bathroom so it will bring in air and suck out the moisture from your shower or if the humidity if hot. Windows also help it stay dry because it is circulating air through the room. You need to wipe down the wall of the tub after every use so no mold will grow around the tub. This also helps keep the seal in good condition and can last a lot longer than it would if you do not wipe it off.
Also wipe around the faucets and the showerhead because mold can easily grow there. When you don”t wipe the wall and around the top of the tub, it can cause the seals to peel off or break off. Mold can grow under the seals and you can see the black mold start to form. You can clean the tub and the walls around the tub with bathroom cleaners, such as bleach, Scrubbing Bubbles, and many others. You can take an old toothbrush and clean around the small areas that you cannot get to.
Make sure there are no leaks or any cracks in the faucets because that can cause water damage and mold to grow. It will also leave water stains on the wall of the tub and under the faucet. Put tile around the tub if there is one because it can help you not have mold around your tub. Plain walls will not work because they get wet and damage too easily. If you have a plain wall, you are just asking for mold because that is what they cause. If the seals or caulk around the tub start to wear out and break, you need to peel all the caulking up and redo the whole thing.
You do not want to put caulks around the parts that are peeling up because water can still get through the cracks between the caulking. You can put some caulking in the corners if the tub so water will not fall down the sides of it and cause damage to the floor and cause mold to grow on the sides. But make sure it is high enough so the water will not get out. When you do this, you have to dry it every time you get out of the bathtub. You also need to clean the drain everyday so no build up will form on there and so no mold can grow under or around the sides of the drain.
