As today carpets are widely used in our home designs carpet cleaning is a task sooner or later anyone would have to deal with.
Dusting, removing stains and odor from your carpet is not only the matter of looks (dirty and stained carpets rarely beautify any home design), but it is also a great matter of health and safety of your home environment.
Carpets always accumulate much dirt and dust in them no matter how well you vacuum them and this provides a great place for various pathogenic microbes reproduction. So, let us take a look on some carpet cleaning tips, which would help you to turn your home into a more beautiful and safe place to live.
There are several carpet cleaning methods you may use at home. Those are dry vacuum cleaning, beat cleaning, moist cleaning or chemical cleaning.
- Dry vacuum cleaning
This is something, which probably most of us do every day, or else it has to be done every day for keeping your home clean and safe. Cleaning your carpet with regular kind of dry vacuum cleaner allows you to clean it off dust and dirt reducing greatly the effect of allergies your carpet can produce by accumulating all those undesirable things on it.
- Beat carpet cleaning
Beat cleaning really helps you to get rid of much dirt and dust especially if it is done during the snowy winter. But of course, such cleaning cannot be done very often and in some cases, like with glued or nailed carpeting is impossible at all.
If you live in a snowy region it is best to cover your carpet first with much snow and sweep it off. This way you will do the additional frost cleaning against some bacteria and greatly improve the color of your carpet without having to do a moist cleaning and wait for your carpet to get dry again. For such snow beating you may spread your carpet on the ground or hang it in the place where you are going to beat it and play a small snowball fight with it.
- Moist cleaning and chemical cleaning
These two kinds of carpet cleaning can be combined as well as done separately. You may do the hand water washing of your carpet or use water cleaning vacuum cleaner for it. Even though after such washing your carpet will get rid of much dust and bacteria, you”ll wash off many stains and the carpet will regain much of its color, you should be careful to dry it really well afterwards; because moist carpets represent excellent dwelling place for pathogenic bacteria and mold.
When you do a chemical cleaning you add some special carpet cleaning solutions to the water. In most cases before you go ahead and apply your solution to entire carpet, you better try it on some corner of it to see if it will not ruin carpet coloring. It is not enough to simply wash the carpet with chemical solution or vacuum it. You still have to do the additional after cleaning with water, so the chemicals would wash off the carpet. Otherwise, you run a risk of having allergic reactions on such carpet at your home.
As you see properly done carpet cleaning may only improve the looks of your carpet and your home design, but also make your home a more safe place to live.
